Each user has 100m to spend on their team of 11 Football Players. Players score points based on their actual performance in football matches, as per the Football Points Scoring. When the relevant match(es) are finished, the team with the most points wins the pot / their share of the pot.
Pick your team
Each user can pick as many different teams as they like. Users can make as many changes to their teams before the team-picking deadline closes – one minute before each match is scheduled to start. Each user’s last saved team is the team that gets entered into their one-on-one and multiplayer games. A valid team is a team of 11 players that costs 100m or less. Users can choose any 11 players in the following formation: 1x Goalkeeper, 4x Defenders, 4x Midfielders, 2x Forwards. There are no restrictions on how many players from a particular team a user can select.
Users can enter one-on-one games, private multiplayer games against their friends and public multiplayer games against the general public. Games are for free or for cash, with cash pots distributed as per the Payout Structure for the relevant game.
One-on-One Games have 2 entrants. Multiplayer Games have >2 entrants. Multiplayer games can be private – where entrants are invited to the game by the game creator or by people the game creator has invited – or public, where anyone can join. Users can decide if they want to play for free or for real money. PlayON takes a commission on entries into cash games as per the Commission Structure.
This is the time from when a game is visible on the site in the Enter Games page up to when the team-picking deadline occurs – one minute before the scheduled start of each match. Users can pick an unlimited number of teams can re-save them as many times as they like. Unlimited entry games (i.e. games that can have an unlimited number of entries) are available for users to enter as many teams as they wish during this period. Once the team-picking deadline occurs, no more entries into limitless entry games can happen. In addition to limitless entry games, there are also limited entry games – both one-on-one (2 users) and multiplayer (3 player, 4 player, 5 player, 10 player etc). As these games fill up (i.e. 10/10 entrants), new games are auto-regenerated by the PlayON system (i.e. 0/10 entrants). For any limited entry games (either one on one or limited entry multiplayer games) that aren't filled by the team-picking deadline, users already entered into these games get their entry refunded. This is to ensure that everyone knows what game type they are entering at the time of entry.
This is the time from when the team-picking deadline happens to when the last match in the relevant timeframe finishes.
No team picking is possible during the live matchday – all users’ teams are locked in their final state. All users’ teams are revealed so users can see which players their opponents' have picked. Users can challenge specific teams to in-play one-on-one games.
In-Play games go live - limited entry games only – i.e no limitless entry games happen during live matchday to ensure there is a short time lag between the first and last entrant into games. As these games fill up (i.e. 10/10 entrants), new instances of the games are auto-regenerated by the PlayON system (i.e. 0/10 entrants). For any limited entry games (either one on one or limited entry multiplayer games) that aren't filled by the time the last match in the relevant timeframe finishes, users already entered into these games get their entry refunded. This is to ensure that everyone knows exactly what game type they are entering at the time of entry.
Live Matchday – all player and team data updates in real time through feeds PlayON receives through STATS. This ensures that users can see exactly how they are doing in all of their games and can enter in-play games as they wish.
Users can unjoin any game they have entered before it goes live. All limited entry games (one-on-one and limited entry multiplayer games) go live when they fill up (2/2 or 10/10 entrants). Limitless entry games go live when the team-picking deadline occurs.
The results of one-on-one and multiplayer games are decided based on finalised data feeds from PlayON’s third party data provider. Once the matches in the relevant timeframe are finished, PlayON distributes the one-on-one and multiplayer game pots to the winner(s).
A refund of the game entry is awarded to the user if no other user enters the relevant game. For games with Guaranteed Pots, a minimum of 2x people must enter the game in order for the game to go live. In a one-on-one challenge, if an opponent does not accept the challenge before the team-picking deadline, the challenger receives a refund of the game entry and game commission. Similarly, if another user does not join an in-play multiplayer game or one-on-one game before the conclusion of the timeframe, the first entrant receives a full refund of the game entry and game commission.
If a football match is cancelled and it is the only match in the timeframe, all game entries in that timeframe will be refunded. If a football match is cancelled and it is not the only match in the timeframe, games will be decided based on the points accumulated by players playing in the other matches.
